In the novel the ending is kind of bland and it talks about one of the major conflicts from the beginning of the book. In the last few chapters the book goes on a whirlwind effect and everything comes out. One night Conor comes knocking on Jace’s hotel room. Jace opens the door and see’s Conor standing there with blood all over his face and he was out of breath from staggering to the room. Jace refuses to let him in the room because he is wasted out of his mind and very delusional. But Conor forced his way into the room and through up all over the bathroom. Jace being the guy he is cleaned Conor up and let him stay in his room for the night. But during this night Jace’s look at Conor would change dramatically.
Jace wakes up to Conor kissing his lips!!!!!?????!!!! Jace jumps out of bed in awwww! Conor tells Jace that he is gay and he is the only person who knows about this. Conor thought Jace was gay and that is why he kissed him that night. Confused Jace tells Conor he isn’t gay and he has feelings for Kate. But by the end of his vacation Jace still doesn’t get laid and it really doesn’t tell you about what happens after they get home from their trip to Mexico.
Also in the middle of the novel Jace talks about how it was his fault that his brother killed himself and Jace didn’t want to tell his mother this. But at the end of the novel it flashes back to a conversation that Jace’s mother and Stefan had the day before he killed himself in the garage. Stefan came out of the closet that he was gay and Jace’s mother didn’t want to except it and told Stefan that he needed to get help and is just confused about his feelings towards guys.
But the next night Stefan ended his life and all of this time Jace thought it was his fault but now he realizes why his mother is not herself anymore.
Overall the novel was really interesting but I was expecting a better ending(Jace getting laid!). This book is sort of related to teenagers but this book is not a story about an average teen. He has experienced more drama in his life then I hope to. But you never know what lies ahead in your life.
